Bound volume containing correspondence, with a few telegrams and papers, January-May 1864, dealing with the activities of the Committee. Mostly letters to James M. Brown and John Austin Stevens, Jr.; some letters to and from Charles W. Le Gendre. Box containing a variety of material dated 1864: minutes, January 3, 1864 - April 18, 1864; correspondence; ca. 500 receipts for recruits (mostly into the 51st New York Sate Volunteers), with decriptions; a resolution making Stevens an honorary member of the 51st Regiment; two copies of the organization's printed report (New York: John W. Amerman, 1866); checks; receipts, many from printers and advertisers; muster rolls; a subscription list; invitations, flyers, and other ephemera; newspaper clippings related to the war.
